Yenny Bernal is a Colombian-born visual mixed media artist, art teacher, and small business owner in Santa Ana.
Uplifting Soul Art Events was born with the arrival of work opportunities like DTSA’s Farmers Market Family Booth coordinator, DTSA’s ArtWalk Coordinator, Bowers Museum Treasures Workshops art liaison, as well as direct collaboration with the city of Santa Ana and other local organizations. And currently, as the owner of Galería of Imagination a community gallery exhibition and makerspace located at the MainPlace Mall.
For the last 15 years of her professional career, she has focused on planting the seeds of her love and passion for visual and musical art creation through her event coordination and arts education curriculum planning, now harvesting these seeds with the preservation and spreading of arts education and appreciation in these two cities in OC via Arts and Culture events.
Her small business mission focuses on celebrating our diversity via activities and performances that enhance our collective intellect and knowledge. We base our events programming on various cultural roots and aspects that elevate our understanding of human history and other people’s traditions, thus connecting us as a community at a much deeper level.
She wants to continue to ignite the desire for art exploration regardless of economic means or status. And feels truly thankful for the fortune of being able to offer her events free of cost to people of all ages who want to join in on our ArtVentures thanks to the funding of patrons of the arts.
We have assisted, hosted, curated, and produced events such as Heartbeat of Mexico with Chapman University in the City of Orange.
But are mainly involved with the City of Santa Ana via events like the last 4th Street Cinco de Mayo Festival 2015, Farmers Market family booth Yost Plaza, and 2nd St. Farmers Market honoring world-renowned sculptor Jorge Marin’s ‘Wings of the City’ educational workshops, Round Table community sessions art activities, Investing in the Art Granteed /Fiesta de Culturas, MainPlace Mall Art Walks reaching their 8th Annual, and Dia de Muertos 10th Annual this year, as well as MyPerks Sip & Paints/Crafts Nights for adults 21 and over.
We invite you to come check out our events. I am eternally grateful to all of the wonderful local talented artists that form our event teams.
This sort of economic equity gives us the opportunity to open small businesses like hers and live the American Dream we migrants work so hard to achieve.
